Poly(p-phenylene vinylene) incorporated into carbon nanostructures

Abstract Composites of poly( p -phenylene vinylene) (PPV) and different carbon nanostructures, such as fullerene C 60 , multi-walled nanotubes (MWCNTs), single-walled (SWCNTs), graphene oxide (GO), nanoplatelets (GNPLs), were produced by Wittig’s soluble precursor procedure in solutions containing dispersed particles nanomaterials. These composites investigated using infrared Raman spectroscopy, scanning transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetry analysis, adsorption/desorption N 2 measurement, electrochemistry. are the form nanostructural porous materials. A significant increase BET (Brunauer–Emmett–Teller) surface is observed for comparison to unmodified PPV. The highest area 125 m ·g −1 was obtained PPV/SWCNT composite. Compared pristine PPV, also exhibit higher thermal stability. effect content composite components on their electrochemical properties investigated. electronic interaction between significantly affects properties, particularly case oxidation processes.
